Homemade Pizza
Homemade Pizza Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 sheet parchment paper
- 2 cups '00' flour or bread flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 cup water (lukewarm)
- 1 packet yeast (instant or active dry)
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- 1 bag cheese mix (mozzarella, provalone)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Mix flour, lukewarm water, salt, sugar, and yeast until it is a thick dough.
- Knead dough by hand or in a stand mixer with a dough hook. Dough should be stretchy and squishy without sticking to anything.
- NOTE: if not using instant yeast, you must let dough sit and wait for yeast to activate. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit. This can take 4-6 hours at room temperature or 12-24 hours in a refrigerator.
- Roll dough into balls for each pizza.
- Cover dough balls with plastic wrap. Let dough rise for 10-15 minutes.
- Flatten dough balls with roller and shape it. (Typically 1/4 inch or less thickness) For standard pizza crust, push dough from the center of the flattened circle to the edges to create a puffy crust. For flatbread-style crust, keep entire pizza very very thin (less than 1/8 inch thickness), including the edges.
- Brush a thin layer of olive oil on flattened dough. Apply sauce and cheese to the entire pizza. Then add toppings as desired.
- Place pizza on parchment paper on a tray and bake in the oven for 12-16 minutes.
